The Tri Nations-winning captain will visit St Mary’s Primary School before heading to The Armidale School.
Horwill will take part in both schools’ assemblies before sharing inside tips to junior rugby players and school coaches.
This will be Horwill’s first time in Armidale and the Australian captain is looking forward to bringing rugby to the New England region.
“It’s certainly something different and I’m really looking forward to getting out there and meeting some of the school kids in Armidale,” Horwill said.
“It’s good to get out to regional areas and meet people who probably don’t get as much exposure to the international games compared to kids in the big cities.”
Armidale is the fifth stop on the 2012 Qantas Wallabies Towns calendar.
The initiative began last year andsaw over 20 Australian rugby players head to different cities and towns across Australia to promote rugby in regional areas.
